“The Mighty Ducks” film franchise was a viewing staple for many kids who grew up in the ’90s. The movies follow youth hockey players as they attempt to go from underdogs to champs. While it’s been 25 years since the last film, Disney Plus is giving fans — both new and old — a chance to watch the Ducks again in a brand-new series.
“The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” follows Evan (Brady Noon), a 12-year-old boy who gets cut from the Ducks youth hockey team. With the help of his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), Evan sets out to form a new team to compete with the Ducks. According to the show’s official synopsis, the team features the “underdogs” and the “misfits” who will play for the “love of the game.”
The show is produced by “The Mighty Ducks” creator Steven Brill and is set to feature the return of a few characters from the original 1992 film. This includes Emilio Estevez as Coach Gordon Bombay, Marguerite Moreau as Connie Moreau, Elden Henson as Fulton Reed, and more.
