According to a new report, the first episode of season two, which debuted last week, registered double the audience that watched the show “during the same time frame” during season one. That suggests that Servant has spread through word of mouth, as well as potentially indicating that Apple TV+ has picked up considerably more viewers in the past year.
Deadline notes that:
“… Apple TV+ does not release hard ratings data but Servant‘s performance is believed to be of the magnitude of such Apple TV+ ratings standouts as Defending Jacob and Ted Lasso. Outside of the U.S., the sophomore season of Servant has posted big year-to-year viewership increases in such markets as France, Mexico and Spain.”
The debut of season two also supposedly boosted binge-watching of season one of Servant. Servant was one of the earliest shows for Apple TV+. It debuted in November 2019 as the service launched. While it debuted one episode at a time (with the exception of three episodes at the start), it’s now available to watch in its entirety.
Interestingly, for season two Apple released only the first episode when Servant season two debuted. Presumably that’s because it’s already got the whole of season one to give people a taster of what the show is like.
Friday, I’m in love (with Apple TV+)
Friday marks the debut of a new episode of Servant on Apple TV+. Titled “Spaceman,” the preview for the episode reads as follows:
“With Natalie’s help, Sean and Julian uncover disturbing details about the cult. Dorothy sacrifices her career reputation for her family.”
Servant is about a couple who hire a mysterious nanny to look after their baby son, Jericho. Her arrival sparks a series of strange happenings in their household.
